Stay in Your Lane part 1

 Stay in Your Lane 1

2 Timothy 1:9 [God] Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace…

I used to be intimidated by large car counts.  Now understand, I mainly race locally, and 60 cars is a large car count for me.  I would pull into staging, see the lanes were full and talk myself right out of a good night.  I mentioned this once to my dad who, in his fatherly wisdom, reminded me “we don’t have to beat all 60, just 6 or 7.

Sometimes the Christian race can seem a little intimidating.  Most of the time this happens because well meaning fellow believers try to put too much on the new believer.  To use our analogy, they stress the 60 not the 6.  And you seasoned racers know that even this is a mistake.  Focus not on the 60, not on the 6, but on the 2 in the beams… you and the other guy/gal.  One procedure at a time, one pass at a time, one race at a time.

In our Christian race, God calls all of us to some sort of service.  Each believer performs his/her service based on the gifts God gives that individual.  In essence, we find our lane.  While this can seem a bit intimidating, it is really the simplest part of our Christian race. This is because God is in control of it all.  We can’t say that we are without gift(s), because as we will see, God gives everyone gifts. We can’t say that we are without a lane in which to use them, because God gives us a lane as well.  For more click here.
